Here are two of our favorite quotes from the review:
"It is one of the best headphones I have heard at any price."
"It is just outrageously good in my opinion"
Just recommended in Part Time Audiophile's best headphone gear of 2023. They said:
"This headphone is sourced from the Russian-based manufacturer Kennerton under the ambitious LSA moniker, and sold by Underwood Hi-Fi. The fit and finish of these wooden-cupped cans is remarkable, and the low frequency performance is superb. We found “the looks, bass and wearability very refreshing among the many choices for high fidelity in this range of personal audio.”
Here is an early customer feedback:
"Dear Walter, Just some quick feedback, I guess not that many have received these yet. And obviously not broken been playing for two hours straight. What an amazing headset! The detail (and can be a bit unforgiving on poor recordings) but just incredible! And the mids and vocals, unbelievable." PL in Switzerland
The new HP-2 Ultra is our breakthrough in an affordable under $1000.00 headphone. It is our version of the Kennerton Gjallarhorn. It is the exact same phone with our cosmetic in one wood only. This new $1,400.00 Kennerton phone uses a superb new horn loaded 50 mm driver with a bio-cellulose and paper membrane with a graphene coating. The HP2 Ultra is identical sonically to the Gjallahorn and only differs cosmetically. The original Kennerton Magni received great reviews and our new upgraded HP-2 Ultra version is a clear step up.

The new driver is a compression design, i.e., its membrane has an extremely soft suspension and additionally
relies on the elasticity of the air volume of the acoustic chamber, represented by the earphone cup. This is done to lower the resonant frequency of the dynamics, and accordingly the depth of reproduced low frequencies. This feature makes the speaker extremely responsive to any slightest change in acoustic design, its volume and filling. In addition, the membrane requires 75-100 hours of play for full break in. As it plays the suspension softens and gives you the corect bass output. Once broken in the results are superb and make the LP-2 Ultra the best under $1000.00 phone that we have ever heard. The HP-2 Ultra headphone is an easy 33-ohm load and 105dB efficient.
In the first print review Headphone. guru said:
"My first impression was of extreme speed for a dynamic headphone and a neutral tonal balance with a very live bottom end. The timbre of the instruments was excellent and the clarity laudable."
"Vocals had a natural in-room feel despite the large hall soundstage, as did the acoustic guitars. Paramount over all was the dynamic range, which as one would expect was enhanced by the horn design of the HP-2 Ultra."
"My first impression was that for the first time I could hear the spittle rattle in Mile’s trumpet for what it was. Though the upright bass cello was a bit more present than one would expect, the sweetness of the horns was magical, and the playback of this track was probably the richest and most musical I have ever heard it."
"the HP-2 Ultra turned out to be one of the best sounding dynamic headphones I have heard. Fast and dynamic, though the HP-2 is a little hot on the bottom end they are neither boomy nor muffled, as it happens, their clarity of midrange is their most notable characteristic. They are what I think of as a fun headphone, they work well with all forms of music from House to Classical and I would recommend them to fans of any style and genre of music, not something I can often say."
"They are a headphone fan’s headphone. They offer a vast soundstage with laser-etched imaging" "The build quality is top-flight while the design is simple and elegant, and communicates the look and feel of a much more expensive product."

The LP-2 Ultra uses a steel headband with a minimum of moving parts, which means maximum reliability. The headphone cups are made of real wood that are not only beautiful and just pleasant to touch, but also bring warm and natural notes to the sound of the headphones, eliminating the intrusive “plastic” overtones of competitors’ models. Lightweight design, self-adapting to the user’s head and genuine leather ear cushions provide the highest comfort for long-time listening.
The kit includes a nice eco-leather case for a safe storing and carrying the headphones.
The most important advantage of horn headphones is the ability to develop a good sound pressure and give excellent dynamics from the first milliwatts with minimal distortions. Horn Headphones reproduce the most subtle musical nuances and most fully and accurately convey the emotions of performers. The horn in the headphones creates a full presence effect, gives outstanding micro-macro dynamics and a wide directional pattern in the horizontal plane. High and medium frequencies played through a horn have a completely different energy and transparency. Low frequencies, reproduced through a horn, have a natural fullness and power.
Horn-type headphones are musicality, integrity of perception, overall harmony, natural sound and the ability to completely capture the listener.
HIGH PERFORMING GRAPHENE MEMBRANES
It all started with the development of a new high-tech material called “Graphene”.
Graphene – if to explain in simple terms, is a two-dimensional sheet of carbon that is only one atom thick. Its physical properties are truly unique:
- It is 300 times stronger than steel
- It has no internal resistance
- It is incredibly light
As currently the production of pure graphene membrane is very hard and time-consuming and can cost a fortune, we decided to create a hybrid of mylar and powdered graphene applied by a thermal method. Thus, we were able to significantly improve the characteristics of the classic dynamic driver, such as the strength of the membrane, its rigidity and the absorption of parasitic resonances. This high-tech membrane required the corresponding uncompromising “engine”. Therefore, we have equipped the speaker with an ultra-light aluminum voice coil (CCAW), covered with a very thin layer of copper to increase its conductivity. And the coil is set in action by a powerful magnet made of NdFeB alloy, which in size and power of the magnetic field is exceeding 3-4 times the magnets of similar speakers from competitors. All these engineering solutions gave the speaker a high dynamic range, stunning detailing of sound, very low distortion, and brought the sound quality of the speaker close to the representatives of the planar-magnetic technology.
Weight is only 396 grams
Our HP-2 Ultra is the same as the $1350.00 Gjallarhorn with our cosmetic changes. Sonics are exactly the same.
