subwoofer delivers uniquely accurate bass, down to 14Hz, to match the rest of
the range. The Performance 9 subwoofer is an audiophile subwoofer designed for
purity, dynamics and bass speed. It uses two 500 watt ICE amps, one for each 10”
CPC metal cone woofer. These amps have a damping factor of 2000 for superb bass
control. It's built using hand-selected, custom audiophile components to deliver
a sound precisely as the director and sound engineers intended. A pair of
10-inch CPC long-throw drivers sit back-to-back delivering serious bottom end.
This bipole design cancels cabinet vibration. And Mordaunt Short's engineers
have revolutionized the cabinet design with a gently curved monocoque cabinet,
injection-molded using a polymer that dampens undesirable resonance's as well as
looking stunning and matching other speakers in the range. The Performance 9
also comes with a test CD and sound pressure meter, so you can fine tune the
speaker to create the perfect levels of bass to suit your audio, your room and
the Performance 9's exact position in that room. The notch filter works from
25-100Hz and can cancel up to 16Db of bass bloat.
